Meet Hallie Dixon

District Attorney Hallie S. Dixon is a career prosecutor dedicated to serving the public.

Ms. Dixon knows the value of hard work and determination. When she was just 14 years old, she started working as an exercise jockey for local horse owners, a job she continued throughout high school and into college. She put herself through college – often working multiple jobs and taking night classes – and law school as a single parent.

A graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law, Ms. Dixon has practiced law since 1998.  She ran her own firm before joining the Baldwin County District Attorney’s office in 2006.

As an Assistant District Attorney, she quickly rose from a junior prosecutor to major felony prosecutor. She served as law enforcement liaison, child abuse prosecutor, Trial Attorney Supervisor, and, ultimately, Chief Assistant District Attorney before leaving the office in 2008 to join the staff of the Alabama Attorney General’s Office.

There, Ms. Dixon prosecuted cases all over the State of Alabama.  As an Assistant Attorney General, Ms. Dixon worked family protection, public corruption and death penalty appeals cases.

Ms. Dixon is the first prosecutor in Baldwin County to be selected “Prosecutor of the Year” for the State of Alabama and she received special recognition from law enforcement for her work in support of the men and women protecting our communities.

Ms. Dixon was raised in Baldwin County surrounded by brothers, cousins, grandparents, aunts and uncles. She enjoys riding her four horses and spending time with her children and dogs.
